Licensed & Board Certified Therapist
Denver, CO

Hello, I am so glad you are here.

Welcome to the first step in finding peace. Seeking psychotherapy is a meaningful decision to make. It means that you are taking a step towards reclaiming your joy, health, and wellbeing. Therapy offers the potential for real and lasting change. I am here to offer guidance and insight along your journey inward. My presence is warm, attentive, and authentic. I believe that by accessing what exists inside ourselves, we become clear and confident in who we are. From here we are able to make effective choices aligned with who we really are, guiding us through life with openness, lightheartedness and less struggle.

I use research-supported therapeutic approaches to illuminate underlining issues, develop a treatment plan, and begin a journey to healing. Your input and wisdom are valued in this process to determine the best treatment plan for your individual needs. My priority is to attune to what is alive in you, helping you flourish and become your best self. You can read more about my therapeutic services, and more about me, my education and training below.

I am available for a phone consultation to answer any questions, listen to your needs, and explore working together. For any further questions or to book an appointment contact me here.

Therapeutic Services & Approach

Individual
I am a relational therapist. This means that I believe that true healing comes from genuine connection. We are able to explore the avoided, unattended or forgotten parts of you that may be laced with shame, confusion and self-judgment by cultivating connection in a safe and confidential space.

My method of therapy is one of guided self-discovery and understanding through research-based and psychodynamic approaches. This method allows for the unique possibility of science-driven treatment combined with a warm therapeutic approach that leads to lasting healing and continual growth.

Trauma
When we experience trauma, our brains often need time to process this event to make sense of the experience. If an event is beyond our ability to understand, or if the trauma repeats over time, our brains can have difficulty effectively processing the trauma. Injuries and traumatic events can rob us of many things, including our joy in life. Sometimes we find it difficult to deal with these things by ourselves and need help. The good news is that there are very effective research-based treatments that alleviate symptoms and enable one to process the trauma and learn skills and tools to become stronger, healthier, and happier. Trauma treatment can empower you to move past the trauma and reclaim your life, your family, and your future.

Addiction & Sexuality
Compulsive behavior can impact all areas of our lives. When we find ourselves coping in ways that start to hurt us, we may need to look more closely at our coping style. Sexuality is just one of these behaviors that can easily become harmful if used beyond its purpose. If you find yourself struggling with sexual compulsivity, atypical sexual interests, or making choices related to sexuality, healing is possible. I offer many years of training and expertise in these specific issues and can guide you to finding peace in this particularly difficult area.

Assessment
In-depth testing and assessment can answer specific therapeutic questions that may not be evident through therapy alone. I offer cognitive and personality assessment for individuals seeking answers through assessment. Common topics investigated through assessment include memory decline, ADHD diagnosis, compulsivity and impulsivity, intelligence, and personality.

Supervision
Becoming a therapist in Colorado? Colorado’s Mental Health Practice Act requires all Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to follow state educational, examination, and supervised practice guidelines. You must also fulfill experience requirements by working as a professional counselor candidate. The State of Colorado mandates that candidates must acquire at least 100 hours of supervision for 2000 hours of work experience. I offer supervision hours for those seeking hours toward their licensure.

The treatments include cognitive-behavioral theory as well as psychodynamic theory. Each client is assessed to identify which treatment and theoretical foundation will serve them best, based on their unique needs.

About Me

  • Below you will find more about my education, and training; however, I also want you to know more about who I am.

I am drawn to deep, meaningful relationships and naturally attune to the emotional experiences in myself and in others. My path has consistently pulled me in the direction of services such as volunteering and working for local nonprofit organizations, working with commonly marginalized individuals, and offering pro-bono services.

I believe a common misconception about therapists is we have always had life “figured out”. Similar to many others, I have experienced profound loss, grief, anxiety, and depression as well as joy, fulfillment, gratitude, and peace throughout various times in my life. As a therapist, I bring not only years of training and experience, but I bring my human experience and genuine empathy for many walks of life. My sincere hope is that all clients who meet with me will feel this genuine care and feel seen and accepted

If you’re interested in knowing more about my academic and professional background, please read on. You will also learn more about the trainings and professional experiences that guide my work.
